Due to reductions across Canada’s immigration system, New Brunswick is implementing a candidate pool system for endorsement applications under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). This allows for better management of our application inventory and for improved responsiveness to the provincial labour market needs.

If you have already received a nomination certificate from the Province of New Brunswick, withdrawing that certificate for the purpose of reapplying under another immigration program or stream administered by Immigration New Brunswick is not permitted.
A nominee under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is expected to submit their application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before their nomination certificate expires.
If you have already received an endorsement certificate under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) from the Province of New Brunswick, withdrawing that certificate for the purpose of reapplying under another immigration program or stream administered by Immigration New Brunswick (ImmigrationNB) is not permitted.
An AIP endorsee is expected to submit their application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before their endorsement certificate expires.
Due to longer processing times at IRCC, some AIP endorsees may require an extension to their current work permit.
To support this need, ImmigrationNB can issue a letter of support for a closed work permit under the LMIA exemption code C18. This letter offers a temporary solution while AIP endorsees await a final decision on their permanent residence application.
Note: AIP endorsees are not eligible for the Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) program.
In addition, ImmigrationNB must be informed of any changes in an AIP endorsee’s employment situation, such as loss of employment, change of employer, or change in position. These changes may affect their eligibility for the program, and their endorsement certificates may need to be updated.
If you are an AIP endorsee and wish to obtain a letter of support for a closed work permit under the LMIA-exemption code C18 or report changes to your employment situation, contact ImmigrationNB using the NBAIP-021 Post-Endorsement Requests form.
The Private Career College Graduate Pilot was launched in September 2022.
Initially a 3-year project, the pilot has been extended in a limited capacity through to the end of 2026 to offer a potential pathway to international students already registered in specific programs of study who would not have graduated prior to the pilot’s original end date. Please consult the application guide for details.
Once the pilot closes, no new nominations will be issued. Students who do not qualify for the Pilot or who will graduate after the pilot closure date are encouraged to review othe New Brunswick provincial immigration programs and streams. Graduates with qualifying work experience and job offer from a New Brunswick employer may be eligible to apply when they complete their studies.
