NBPNP candidate pool

Overview

Immigration New Brunswick (ImmigrationNB) uses an expression of interest (EOI) system to manage the intake of immigration applications for the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP). Before you can submit a complete application, you must submit an EOI in the INB portal.

Submitted EOIs are placed in the candidate pool and remain valid for 365 days from the date of submission. Be sure to keep your EOI up to date.

ImmigrationNB will review these EOIs and issue invitations to apply (ITAs) based on provincial labour market needs, available allocation, and other factors and priorities determined by the Government of New Brunswick.

Meeting the eligibility requirements for an NBPNP stream does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply. Moreover, receiving an ITA does not guarantee that you will be nominated.

If you are invited to apply, you must submit a complete application under the stream specified in your invitation and within the timeframe indicated in the invitation.

Create a candidate profile

Register on the INB portal and create a candidate profile. Always keep your contact information up to date.

Submit an expression of interest

Explore available immigration streams and pathways and decide on one stream you believe you are eligible for and will have the best chance at, then submit your expression of interest (EOI).

Preparation

You will need:

  • your work permit or study permit, if applicable;
  • valid language test scores, if applicable;
  • information about your employment in New Brunswick, if applicable; and
  • the NB-004 Employment Information form, signed and completed by your supporting employer (required for all pathways of the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream and the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot).

How to submit an EOI

  • Log in to your INB account.
  • Click the “Start” button on your Dashboard page.
  • Select your immigration stream.
  • Complete the questionnaire.
  • Submit your EOI.

Each stream of the NBPNP may have several different pathways. Your answers to the questionnaire will allow ImmigrationNB to determine which pathways of that stream you may qualify for.

Multiple EOIs or applications

An INB profile can have only one active EOI or application.

If you have an EOI in the NBPNP candidate pool and you want to submit an EOI for different programs or streams, you can:

  • withdraw your current EOI and submit a new one

or

  • keep your current EOI and create a separate INB profile using a different email address to submit an additional EOI

If you want to submit an AIP endorsement application to the AIP candidate pool and also submit an EOI to the NBPNP candidate pool, you must create a separate INB profile for each program.

You can only have one active application with ImmigrationNB. This means you can be in both the NBPNP and AIP candidate pools, but you can only move forward with one of them.

  • If you receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for an NBPNP stream, you must withdraw all your other submissions
  • If your AIP endorsement application is selected for processing, you must withdraw all your EOIs
  • If you receive an ITA for an NBPNP stream and your AIP endorsement application is selected for processing, you must choose only one and withdraw the other
If you submit more than one active application, all of them could be refused.

Update an expression of interest

Be sure to update your expression of interest (EOI) if any of the information you provided has changed.

How to update an EOI

To make changes to your EOI, simply withdraw your current EOI and submit a new one with the appropriate changes.

These changes may be, but are not limited to, any of the following:

  • a new employer;
  • a new NOC code;
  • new work permit details;
  • new federal Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code;
  • correction to any answers provided;
  • changing from one immigration stream to another.

EOIs are not considered on a first come, first served basis. Withdrawing and resubmitting an EOI does not place you at the back of the queue.

NBPNP candidate pool

Submitted EOIs are placed in the candidate pool, and they remain valid for 365 days from the date of submission.

Invitations to apply

ImmigrationNB reviews submitted EOIs and issues invitations to apply (ITAs) only to selected individuals through scheduled invitation draws. The submission of an EOI does not guarantee that you will receive an ITA.

Submit a complete application

If you receive an invitation to apply (ITA), you will submit a complete application to ImmigrationNB and pay the processing fee through the INB portal within the timeframe indicated in the invitation. If you do not do so before the deadline, your ITA and the associated EOI will automatically expire. After expiry, you will need to start over from the beginning by submitting a new expression of interest if you wish to have further consideration from the province. ImmigrationNB cannot guarantee that you will be invited again.

Receiving an ITA does not guarantee a nomination. You are responsible for ensuring that you meet all eligibility requirements before applying.

Submitting a complete application means you will provide more details about yourself (and about your spouse or common-law partner and any dependent, if applicable), as well as all of the required supporting documents.

Your chosen program or stream cannot be changed once you have applied. Additionally, you can have only one active application with ImmigrationNB at any given moment. If you have more than one active applications, you will be asked to choose one and withdraw the rest. Any processing fee paid for withdrawn applications will not be refunded.
