AIP employer designation

Overview

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) enables New Brunswick employers to support their new hires or existing workers in obtaining permanent residence. To participate in the AIP, employers must first receive designation from Immigration New Brunswick. This process ensures that employers are eligible, compliant, and prepared to assist newcomers both in the workplace and in the community. Only designated employers can offer jobs and submit endorsement applications under the AIP.

Changes that could impact the designation

Any changes to the ownership, management, or operations of a designated employer may have an impact on the designation. In addition, the designation is not automatically transferred after the sale of a business.

If there have been changes, the new owner or management must contact Immigration New Brunswick.

We may request additional information, such as:

  • a copy of the purchase agreement
  • details about future operations
  • details about its management structure

Designation transfers are intended for Immigration New Brunswick to maintain support for endorsees. Businesses designated through this process must operate under the same ownership and management for at least 24 months before they can submit new endorsement applications.

All decisions regarding designation transfers and continued provincial support for endorsees are at the sole discretion of Immigration New Brunswick.
