What New Brunswick is Doing

  • New Brunswick is leading the country in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and is well on its way to meeting the national target of 40-45 per cent below 2005 levels.
  • Electricity Act amended to include Energy Efficiency Targets and dedicated funding in the Energy Efficiency Fund.
  • Fifty-eight New Brunswick municipalities have completed Adaptation Plans covering a portion of their territory.
  • Forty-seven percent of New Brunswick municipalities have completed Adaptation Plans covering a portion of their territory.
  • Electricity Act amended to include Energy Efficiency Targets and dedicated funding in the Energy Efficiency Fund.
  • In 2022-2023, 670 electric vehicles and 179 home charger installations were incentivized through the NB EV rebate program.
