GNB is committed to attracting top talent. Our hiring process ensures fairness, transparency, and recruits individuals dedicated to serving the people of New Brunswick.
The best method to apply for competitions is online via the e-Recruitment portal. To see open competitions, please visit Open Competitions (gnb.ca)
When applying online, please take note of the following:
After the competition closes, we'll review all applications and select those who meet the qualifications for further consideration. Candidates who meet the required qualifications for the position will be contacted by the department and advance to the next stage of selection.
Departments will schedule interviews and/or testing for selected candidates. After interviews/testing is completed, the successful candidate will be notified.
The status of ongoing competitions can be viewed on the GNB website.
Important Note: The legislated feedback and complaint process, as outlined in the Civil Service Act, applies exclusively to departments listed in Regulation 93-137, Section 3.
You can ask the hiring department for feedback. This helps you understand why and see things from their side. You have 30 days after getting notified about an appointment to ask for feedback. It's a chance to talk openly and understand how to better prepare for a future interview.
The status of ongoing competitions can be viewed on the GNB website.
These updates help job applicants stay informed with the latest news.
Sometimes, a department might cancel a competition. In that case, the status will change to: Competition Cancelled
Everyone who passed the initial screening (except those who withdrew) will be told about the cancellation.
Aside from the traditional way of applying for a position at GNB via the Recruitment Portal, there are other pathways for you to get in!
