Sophie Lacroix | Director | Bureau des Relations et de l’Éducation internationales (BREI) Canada–New Brunswick CONFEMEN National Liaison Officer

Sophie Lacroix oversees all activities of the BREI. She is responsible for international and business relations on behalf of EECD’s Francophone sector. She oversees the development and implementation of a strategic vision for international education and educational cooperation.

In 2015, she became a CONFEMEN national liaison officer. Chairing the national liaison officers’ working group from 2018 to 2022, she played a key role in positioning the organization and New Brunswick at the forefront in education-related matters with various entities throughout the Francophonie.

An intrepid traveller, teacher and musician, Sophie is also passionate about cultural diversity, theatre, photography and outdoor sports.


Julie Forest | Provincial Learning Specialist | Chief Operating Officer, International Education

As Chief Operating Officer for the Programme ÉFIA Canada NB, Julie Forest is responsible for managing the project authorization process as well as compliance of the administrative component of overseas schools. With her great flexibility, Julie is able to easily adapt to the requirements of various organizations. She prefers a solution-focused approach with the goal of adapting quickly to change. She uses a warm, personalized approach to assist in building sound, sustainable relationships with her clients.

Julie has a keen interest in nature, the arts, history and human relations and loves to travel to broaden her horizons.


Marie-Joëlle Bergeron │ Manager │ Attraction and Retention Strategy / International and Intercultural Relations

As the manager of the attraction and retention strategy and international and intercultural relations, Marie-Joëlle ensures the implementation of initiatives that promote the welcoming, inclusion, and retention of learners from immigration backgrounds in French-language schools. In the course of her duties, she also plays a supportive role in the international recruitment of education professionals.


Gabrielle Henry-Vincent │ Project Manager – Cooperation, Education, and Francophonie

Gabrielle Henry-Vincent establishes and cultivates relationships with various institutional partners in the international Francophonie with the aim of facilitating the establishment of international partnerships for the Francophone Education sector in New Brunswick. These partnerships provide diverse exchange opportunities for both students and teaching staff. She also coordinates the development of educational cooperation in the New Brunswick region.

During her leisure time, Gabrielle enjoys yoga, alpine skiing, hiking, and exploring the beautiful regions of our country.


Louis-René Robichaud | Provincial Learning Specialist | Chief Instructional Officer, International Education

Louis-René Robichaud’s main responsibility is to ensure the educational compliance of the Programme ÉFIA Canada NB. He coordinates ongoing teacher training and development of the ÉFIA Canada NB teacher certification system and supports the administration teams at authorized schools.

Louis-René is responsible for verification of learning, coordination of departmental assessments at ÉFIA Canada NB schools and the educational component of inspections carried out at these schools. In addition, he liaises between the Programme ÉFIA Canada NB and New Brunswick education system actors including DEECD, school districts and school administrations. He is also very tech-savvy!

An outdoor activity enthusiast and father to two children, Louis-René enjoys camping with his family in his leisure time.


Ariane Juneau-Godin │ Project Manager - Intercultural Education, Relations, and Francophonie

Ariane Juneau-Godin oversees the management of various projects within the Francophone education sector of New Brunswick, from conception to implementation. She is particularly responsible for the update process of the Politique d’aménagement linguistique et culturel (PALC), while managing a variety of projects related to intercultural education. Her curious and accommodating nature leads her to establish relationships naturally marked by consideration and respect.

As a mother, she wishes to share her love for the outdoors, whether through hiking, river canoeing, or exploring trails on cross-country skis.


Danaë Asselin | Administrative Assistant

Danaë Asselin provides the various BREI team members with administrative, financial and logistic support in the day-to-day management of international education files. From finances and delegation hosting logistics to drafting official correspondence, managing the technology component of tools used for collaborating with partners and developing administrative processes, Danaë is known for her versatility and thoroughness.

Proactive by nature and focused on finding solutions and achieving outcomes, she keeps the BREI’s operations running smoothly. She also liaises with its partners while keeping continuous improvement top of mind.

A mother of two, she is fond of travelling, the arts and family sports activities.
