Issuance of Rabbit Licences to residents of N.B.
Must be a resident as defined in the Fish and Wildlife Act and must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Rabbit Licence.
Trapper education is not required to obtain a Rabbit Licence. A Rabbit Licence is issued to a resident sixteen years of age or over. A Minor Rabbit Licence is issued to a resident 10 to 15 years of age.
Hunter Education Requirements:
Minor Rabbit hunters are not permitted to carry a firearm unless they are 14 or 15 years of age, have passed the Firearms Safety/Hunter Education course and are accompanied by a person 19 years of age or older. Conservation Education certificates from other provinces, territories and states are valid in New Brunswick.
A Rabbit Licence entitles the holder to hunt, trap or snare rabbits during the open season for rabbit (varying hare) in New Brunswick.
