Crown Lands - Lease for Agricultural Purposes
Under certain terms and conditions, Crown Land may be leased from the department for the purpose of agricultural production.
The department will consider for transfer Crown Land which is clear cut, old fields or recently burned over areas for agricultural use. Forested land will not be considered for transfer .
An application to lease Crown land for the purpose of agricultural production may be made on forms available from any office of the department.
Applications must include:
1. A map or aerial photo showing the location of the subject property.
2. A site development strategy which will outline a plan, including timeframes, for the intended development of the site.
Applicants should apply for only those lands which are required for agricultural purposes. Applicants are encouraged to contact the nearest office of the department for assistance in completing their applications.
All completed applications are to be submitted for consideration to the Land and Environment Branch of the department.
