  • Overview

In order to acquire the exclusive right to prospect a specific area, a prospector must register a mineral claim covering the area.

    Eligibility

Any individual with a New Brunswick prospecting licence can register a mineral claim either for himself or in the name of any individual or company holding a New Brunswick prospecting licence on any area open to prospecting.

    Description

Claim acquisition in New Brunswick is an online process and can be completed by selecting claim units from an interactive map or by inputting claim units numbers in the application. A mineral claim is valid for one year from the date registered. Mineral claims can be renewed and transferred. In order to keep a mineral claim in good standing, exploratory work must be conducted and reports of work must be submitted.
