Overview
This is a 2-day workshop that offers participants information on boards and how they function, along with practical tools such as: chairing meetings, effective decision-making techniques, conflict resolution, risk management, and finding the right board opportunity for you.
Eligibility
The workshop is designed to engage women new to boards, as well as those who have past experience and a desire to be more effective in their current roles.
Description
The workshop is offered in partnership with Women in Business NB (NB Association of CBDC's) and the Branch.
Board membership is proving to be an excellent training ground for women to gain the hands-on experience required for many decision-making positions. Women can transfer and apply many skills learned from board service to their work life. When successfully utilized, effective board skills enable women to develop their leadership potential - an asset to any workplace.
All participants will be expected to actively participate through the various exercises including a mock board meeting at the end of the workshop!
Participants are provided a workshop binder that includes the course outline, workshop materials and tools.
