Overview

The Artist-in-Residency School Program funds art projects which are based on Fine Arts curricular outcomes and are a collaboration between one or more teachers and one or more artists. This program is jointly funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and this department.

Eligibility

Schools in Anglophone districts are eligible to apply to the program by initiating a project together with a professional artist(s) in any but not limited to the following artistic disciplines; Music, dance, theatre arts, literature (playwriting, storytelling), plastic arts and media arts such as film and video. In order to be eligible to participate, artists must register with the program by submitting the “Call for Artists” form (link to the right).

Description

----THE 2017-2018 PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED----

The general objectives of this program are to encourage students to express themselves and to think creatively and critically through education in the arts.

Level of Funding:
Up to $3,000 per residency. Five residencies per fiscal year per school district will be selected. Additional residencies may be awarded of the remaining top scoring residencies budget permitting.

Application process:
Applications for residencies occurring in the fiscal year that begins on April 1st 2017 must be received by email no later than September 29, 2017. Once approved, residencies should end no later than the end of the school year. Only schools may initiate and present proposals with the collaboration of one or more artist.
