Museum - Exhibits & Activities Grant
This program supports the creation of new exhibits and/or the renewal of existing exhibits in museum and heritage organizations. It also supports the realization of complementary museum activities that enhance the exhibits displayed at the organization.
Applications under this program are limited to non-profit museum and heritage organizations based in New Brunswick and incorporated under the Companies Act.
Eligible projects must fall within a programming plan for the museum in accordance with its mission and mandate.
This program offers financial assistance to support the:
• Construction of an exhibit;
• Renewal of an existing exhibit;
• Design of a new interpretation program or educational activities.
• Conservation of artifacts that are not eligible under the province’s Fine Art Conservation Program.
The activities related to the proposed project must be dynamic, show promise for raising public awareness, and focus on making heritage more accessible to the public.
All applications must include a document outlining the description of the project, the project objectives, a detailed work plan, the content (research, identification of visual and audio material, objects, dimensions, credits, etc.), a preliminary design for the space chosen and, the planned evaluation measures.
Organizations wishing to apply under this program must fill out the appropriate form and send all supporting documents to the department, up to but no later than October 15.
The maximum grant from this program is $10,000. The grant cannot exceed 75% of the project’s cost.
This program does not subsidize preliminary studies, research or concept development for exhibits or museum activities.
