Thank you Mr. Speaker.  I am very proud to rise in the House this morning to announce that approximately four million dollars has been earmarked for 2012-2013 Environmental Trust Fund projects.  That means 195 projects and initiatives will get started or continue with their important work to improve, preserve and protect New Brunswick’s environment.

Mr. Speaker, this initiative helps many groups around New Brunswick and it is very rewarding to see the quality of the projects receiving funding this year.

Examples of work that will be carried out through the Environmental Trust Fund include initiatives to improve water quality, conserve energy, reduce waste, address climate change issues and protect the environment.

Mr. Speaker, more information and a list of approved projects are available on the Department of Environment & Local Government’s website.

I want to congratulate the 195 recipients, and I look forward to following the progress of their projects in the months to come.

Thank you Mr. Speaker.
