Hurricane Arthur transformed into a post-tropical storm over the Maritime Provinces on Saturday July 5, 2014 causing significant infrastructure damage, power outages and minor localized flooding. Arthur at landfall was near hurricane strength winds; winds recorded at the Fredericton Airport were 100 km/h with rainfall in the amount of 120 – 145 mm of rain. High winds over a 24-hour period led to a loss of power throughout the province; the hardest hit were the Fredericton and Woodstock areas.

The application deadline for residential, small business and not-for-profit organizations is 90 days from the date the DFA Program was authorized. Post-tropical storm Arthur, July 2014 DFA program is now closed.
