FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was released today by the legislative administration committee:

The legislative administration committee met today to consider what actions it should request Speaker of the legislative assembly Chris Collins to take in light of the finding that a complaint of harassment against him was founded in part and that there was a violation of the Province of New Brunswick workplace harassment policy.

Based on legal advice, the committee has determined that the appropriate sanctions in this matter are as follows:

  • that Collins provide a written letter of apology addressed to the complainant within 30 days; and
  • that Collins successfully complete anti-harassment and sensitivity training within 30 days.

The committee is satisfied that these are the appropriate measures to take in the circumstances, and the committee considers the matter now resolved.
