MONCTON (GNB) - Students from around the province will present their innovative projects at École Abbey-Landry in Memramcook today.

“Innovation Week is an excellent opportunity to showcase students and teachers in the province who have developed innovative and inspiring projects,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Brian Kenny. “I want to congratulate all Maker Faire participants on their exceptional leadership and creativity.”

Maker Faire will be held in the afternoon. Parents and the public are invited to visit the workshops and learn about topics such as programming, 3D printing and robotics.

A gala will take place in the evening to recognize students and teachers who have demonstrated an ability to think creatively and who have inspired others to solve real-world problems in innovative ways, such as using technology.

The gala is organized by Brilliant Labs, a not-for-profit technology and experiential learning platform that supports the integration of creativity, innovation, coding and an entrepreneurial spirit within classrooms and educational curriculums. Other partners in the event include Place aux compétences, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick, and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
