Mover, seconder named for speech from the throne26 November 2012
FREDERICTON (GNB) – The names of the mover and seconder for the speech from the throne were announced today by Government House Leader Paul Robichaud.
Fredericton-Fort Nashwaak MLA Pam Lynch will move the acceptance of the throne speech during the opening of the third session of the 57th legislature on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The motion will be seconded by Nepisiguit MLA Ryan Riordon.
"As government house leader, I am proud that Pam and Ryan, as mover and seconder for the speech from the throne, will help begin our third legislative session," Robichaud said. "During this session, our focus will be the economy and job creation. You are going to see during the next four weeks new initiatives, new ideas and new strategies to create more jobs and have a stronger economy in New Brunswick."
Lynch was elected to the legislative assembly on Sept. 27, 2010. She said she is honoured to be the first female MLA to be elected from Fredericton. She is a member of the standing committee on Crown corporations, the standing committee on law amendments and the select committee on the revision of the Official Languages Act. On Nov. 5, 2010, she was named legislative secretary to the Minister of Environment and legislative secretary to the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues.
Riordon was elected to the legislative assembly on Sept. 27, 2010. He is a member of the standing committee on public accounts, the standing committee on health care, the select committee on the revision of the Official Languages Act and the standing committee on estimates. On Nov. 5, 2010, he was named legislative secretary to the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Healthy Living.
