SAINT JOHN (GNB) – Genesys Laboratories Canada Inc. is participating in an Invest NB initiative, creating up to 30 more full-time jobs at its customer care centre in Saint John.

Premier David Alward and Warren O'Donnell, vice-president, customer care, Genesys Laboratories Canada Inc., made the announcement today.

"Genesys Laboratories Canada Inc. has a long and successful history in New Brunswick, and we welcome its continued growth in our province, as this investment is another signal that investing in the information and communications technology sector is working to build a stronger economy," said Alward. "Our government is committed to supporting our established international companies as they explore growth opportunities."

Invest NB is providing up to $300,000 through payroll rebates. This investment will contribute $606,100 to the province's gross domestic product this year and $1.6 million annually once all employees have been hired.

Genesys is a leading provider of customer service and contact centre software and services, with more than 2,000 customers in 80 countries. Genesys software directs more than 100 million interactions every day and optimizes processes and the performance of employees who directly work with customers.

The 3,600-square-metre (40,000-square-foot) Saint John centre is the primary Canadian office for Genesys, and it is an integral part of the company's global operations as a key contributor to technical support and quality assurance testing of the business.

Invest NB's mission is to identify and pursue opportunities for strategic and commercially viable foreign direct investments in New Brunswick. Guided by a private sector board of directors, the Crown corporation offers personalized services tailored to the needs of expanding companies and provides financial assistance when required and as appropriate to secure investments.
