Air quality operating approval renewed for McCain Foods plant in Grand Falls16 July 2012
FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government is issuing a new Class 1 air quality approval to the McCain Foods Ltd. (Canada) frozen food plant in Grand Falls.
The new approval will take effect Aug. 16, one day after the current approval expires. The renewal follows public consultation that took place from Feb. 13 to June 15.
The plant consists of peelers, cookers, freezer tunnels, fryers, packaging equipment and a cold storage warehouse.
Documentation supporting the review included a facility profile, draft and intended approvals, summaries of issues raised and responded to as applicable.

The Department of Environment and Local Government is responsible for administering the Clean Air Act through early planning, pollution prevention initiatives and the administration of approvals. Approvals may be amended by the department if necessary.
