ATHOLVILLE (GNB) – More than 200 cyclists are expected to participate in the fourth edition of the Adrenaline Bike Festival, to be held July 13 - 15 in the bike park at Sugarloaf Provincial Park.

"This year's Adrenaline Bike Festival is a great example of what makes our province so diverse," said Culture, Tourism and Healthy Living Minister Trevor Holder. "It brings together a fantastic tourism offering, Sugarloaf Provincial Park and a group of athletes dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and the sport of mountain biking. Our department is thrilled to see this festival have so much success."

The festival has been organized by MaaXX Events in partnership with The Mountaineers Cycling Club. Chris Day, president of the club, says this event has grown throughout the years without any intention of slowing down.

"The Mountaineers Cycling Club has been hosting this event to promote cycling among the young and old alike," Day said. "The race has enabled many athletes to showcase their skills and training throughout the year. This is nothing short of an action-packed weekend of thrills, attracting athletes from Canada and the United States."

Five events will take place throughout the festival, including time trial downhill runs and stunt competitions.

"This festival is a significant tourism opportunity that helps establish Sugarloaf Provincial Park as a choice destination for mountain biking, hiking and nature walks," said Holder. "We are tremendously proud of the park, and this week, we think hundreds of athletes and spectators will agree."
