FREDERICTON (CNB) – Shoppers heading to their local grocery store to pick up a carton of milk this month will be greeted with a reminder to ensure they are on the voter’s list for the Sept. 27 provincial election.

Elections NB has teamed up with Northumberland Co-Operative Dairy in a campaign that will see a side panel of four of its dairy cartons carry a message reminding residents of the importance of their vote in the fall election.

"This provides us with a unique way to reach out to voters, encourage them to vote and provide them with information on how to contact us to make sure that their voting information is up to date," said Michael Quinn, chief electoral officer. "We are pleased that Northumberland Dairy was willing to partner with us on this project,"

"Supporting Elections NB was a perfect fit with the intended goal of our milk carton advertising program, which is to deliver a message that is relevant and important to the people of New Brunswick," said Jack Christie, general manager, Northumberland Co-Operative Dairy.

During the four-week campaign, the Elections NB message will appear on hundreds of thousands of milk cartons.  More information about the provincial election is available online at Elections NB.
