Heritage Fair Program

New Brunswick's Heritage Fair Program is part of a national education project developed to increase awareness and interest in Canadian history. In New Brunswick, the program is an initiative of the Heritage Branch in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture. Support is also provided from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Canada's Historic Places Initiative, New Brunswick Museum, New Brunswick's Department of Intergovernmental Affairs, Council of Archives New Brunswick, New Brunswick Sports Branch, New Brunswick Federation of Labour, New Brunswick Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat, New Brunswick Military History Museum, New Brunswick Military Heritage Project, Canada's National History Society, and Canadian Heritage.

Heritage Fairs . . .

  • are for all students;
  • may be undertaken by an entire school, a class, in small groups, or individually;
  • may take place in the classroom, in the comuntiy or in another setting;
  • can happen anytime during the school year.
