Regional Wellness Grant Program
This grant program will provide up to $5,000 to support community-led solutions to help initiatives which support mental fitness and resilience, healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco-free living.
The Regional Wellness Grant Program supports community-led wellness initiatives that lead to the development of healthy and resilient people living in healthy and resilient environments. To be considered for funding your initiative must contribute to support mental fitness and resilience, healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco-free living.
Examples of wellness initiatives:
• Initiatives that create environments in support of at least two of the following focus areas:
o Healthy eating (e.g. Nutritional Lecture Series for Seniors)
o Physical activity (e.g. Childhood, Youth or Lifelong Physical Literacy)
o Mental fitness and resilience (e.g. Learning Opportunity or Educational Series)
o Tobacco free living (e.g. Community Challenges or Quitting Program)
• Knowledge and volunteer development
• Asset mapping and skill building
• Community action on wellness
• Networking or other community wellness events
Grant applications are accepted throughout the year, as long as the funds are still available.
Your initiative must also be led by a New Brunswick organization that is committed to furthering the wellness of New Brunswickers. The types of organizations may include Wellness Networks, coalitions, schools, communities, municipalities, not-for-profit organizations (local, regional, provincial) and associations. Individuals and private businesses are not eligible to apply.
New Brunswick enjoys the support of many groups and organizations that contribute to New Brunswick’s Wellness Strategy and its vision of a healthy New Brunswick where, together, we learn, work, play, and live in a culture of wellness.
As part of the department's support for the Wellness Strategy, the Wellness Branch provides funding for community based initiatives which support mental fitness and resilience, healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco-free living.
Many communities, organizations and individuals are already working hard to make a difference, to make New Brunswick stronger and healthier. The Regional Wellness Grant Program supports community-led wellness initiatives that lead to the development of healthy and resilient people living in healthy and resilient environments.
Grant applications for the Regional Wellness Grant Program will be accepted throughout the year, providing funds are available. Eligible applicants can receive up to $5,000 in grant funding.
