Training of volunteers and staff is an integral part of an efficient organization. With proper training, volunteers and staff will feel more confident and achieve higher results in the tasks they are assigned.
“One way of fostering a culture of volunteering is by increasing the number of training and professional development opportunities for those who are, or who would like to be, involved in the Non-Profit Sector. All New Brunswickers will benefit from strengthening the capacity of the Sector to plan, manage and train.” (Delivering on the Blueprint, p.32)
Your organization may find training that meets your volunteer and staff’s needs in a number of places. Some places that you can start your search are;
- ask experienced volunteers or staff within your organization,
- other non-profit organizations,
- Volunteer Centres,
- local training facilities and/or,
- online.
The following information is a list of training providers throughout the province. This list was compiled from information these organizations submitted when they responded to the training survey coordinated by the Community Non-Profit Organizations Secretariat in the spring of 2009. We have also included information we have accumulated over the last year while working with and building partnerships with the non-profit sector.
Please note that this is not a complete list of training offered in the province. This piece of our website will continue to grow. We encourage all non-profit organizations to forward training opportunities they offer to the non-profit sector to Info.nonprofitsector@gnb.ca
For more information on these opportunities please contact the individual organizations.
