Fredericton company to create 50 new jobs01 March 2017
FREDERICTON (GNB) – Quick Service Software, a Fredericton-based software company, is expanding and creating 50 new full-time positions.
The company, founded in 2000, currently employs 50 New Brunswickers. It works with the quick-service food industry, offering a multilingual software platform that provides financial management, food cost management, and labour management tools. The company’s Clearview solutions are used by more than 8,500 restaurants worldwide, including Tim Hortons, A&W, Wendy’s, Burger King, Dairy Queen and McDonald’s.
“Our province has a robust information communications technology sector that is providing good jobs to New Brunswickers,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “A spirit of innovation and a strong workforce is crucial to this sector. That is why, through the New Brunswick Economic Growth Plan, we will continue to foster innovation and invest in our people.”
Opportunities NB is providing a payroll rebate of up to $400,000 to assist in the creation of the new positions over a four-year period. During that time, the government estimates these jobs will add $11 million to the provincial GDP while generating about $500,000 in provincial income tax.
“We are very excited for our future at Quick Service Software,” said company co-founder and chief operating officer Greg Noel. “We have a great team of people that have proven what can be done from a small city in Canada. We are investing in New Brunswick because we believe it has one of the best work-life balances available and a pool of talented people to help us grow.”
On Sept. 1, 2015, Quick Service Software sold 51 per cent of the company to AVC Networks North America of Japan, a division of Panasonic, allowing the company to extend its reach into global markets.
“We are building relationships, with the University of New Brunswick and New Brunswick Community College, to provide opportunities for young people and show them they do not have to leave New Brunswick to have an amazing career,” said Noel. “We just completed the coolest new office that was designed to take what our team has done to new heights in innovation and creativity. Add to that our recent partnership with Panasonic that will provide wider visibility around the globe and endless opportunities to combine technologies and create amazing solutions for our customers, and I think you will agree we have a lot to look forward to.”
Opportunities NB is a Crown corporation that seeks to attract and support opportunities to grow the economy and create jobs. It provides support services for businesses across the province.
