    The University Infrastructure Trust Fund was established in March 2002 with an initial investment of $15 million and an additional phase of $20 million announced in 2004.

    Eligibility

    New Brunswick's four public universities, i.e., the Université de Moncton, Mount Allison University, St. Thomas University, and the University of New Brunswick, are eligible.

    Infrastructure renewal projects that contribute directly to the improvement of teaching and research capacities are eligible. Generally, infrastructure renewal projects that contribute directly to the improvement of teaching and research capacities are eligible. Institutions must be able to demonstrate a real improvement; either increased recruitment of students and professors, improved quality of academic programs or enhanced competitiveness for research grants.

    The Fund will be distributed among the public universities according to their share of the Restricted and Unrestricted University Operating Grant received under the New Brunswick University Funding Formula, calculated by university intuitional year and before all transfers between institutions in 2004-2005.

    The University Infrastructure Trust Fund was created to assist New Brunswick public universities to improve their research and teaching infrastructure.

    Projects must be submitted for approval as per the program guidelines to the Department.
