Employer – SEED Co-op Work Term
This part of the SEED Program utilizes wage reimbursements to help provincial departments, agencies, hospital corporations, community colleges or universities employ students in post-secondary co-operative education programs.
An employer must be a:
-provincial government department or agency, hospital corporation, community college or university
The student must be:
-from New Brunswick and currently enrolled in a recognized college or university co-operative education program. A comprehensive list of these institutions can be found at www.cafce.ca.
-referred to the employer by a recognized college or university co-operative education program
The employer application form must:
-be submitted at least 45 days before the start of the requested term
-indicate the name of the co-operative program or the form will be returned
The work term must:
-be a minimum of 35 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week
-be the length of the participant's co-operative program practicum to the maximum of 16 weeks per term
-begin within the term of January, April or September
A wage reimbursement is available to an employer:
-to a maximum outlined in the program guidelines
The employer is responsible for the costs associated with Workplace, Health, Safety and Compensation premiums.
