Government of New Brunswick

Thank you for your input. The consultation period is now closed.

The Employment Standards Act requires the Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour to conduct a review every two years of the amount of the minimum wage, the manner in which it is determined, and the timeline for any changes to it. The review must include consultation with stakeholders.

Government has committed to raise the minimum wage to $11.00 per hour by 2017 and thereafter annually by the rate of inflation. Therefore, this consultation seeks the views of New Brunswickers on a number of options for identifying the best approach to indexing minimum wage to inflation that are outlined in the discussion paper.

We value your input.

All New Brunswickers are welcome to submit comments and suggestions in response to the discussion paper by email, fax or mail by October 7, 2016.
