Government of New Brunswick

N.B. Disability Awareness Week (DAW) is an awareness campaign designed to bring focus and attention various aspects affecting the everyday lives of thousands of New Brunswickers living with disabilities. The Premier’s Council on the Status of Disabled Persons helps to organize the week in collaboration with stakeholders from around the province and encourages the participation of private citizens, businesses and all levels of government to join in the activities.

The Premier’s Council keeps lists of those organizations and government officials who have expressed an interest in helping to inform local interested persons of what DAW activities are planned and other related information such as resource materials and promotional items. The contact person for each group, organization or government department will receive updates on DAW activities which he or she is then encouraged to share with other members of their group or department, either by circulating emails, printing and posting in visible areas or other means judged as appropriate for their environment.

This position is voluntary and the Premier’s Council would appreciate being contacted if there is a change of person whom it should contact regarding the annual Disability Awareness Week, if any groups, organizations or government offices would like to be added to or removed from our general contact listings or for any information relating to Disability Awareness Week.
