MONCTON (GNB) – Tyler Sweeney, 49, has been identified by the Department of Justice and Public Safety as the inmate who died at the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre last week.

Sweeney was found unresponsive in his cell on Feb. 8. Despite efforts to revive the man, he died at 6:35 p.m.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have completed their investigation and, at this point, foul play is not suspected. Initial indications are that the death is attributable to natural causes, however Coroner Services continues its investigation.
