Culture of respect and trust
- We promote a respectful workplace environment based on the New Brunswick Public Service Values.
Employee engagement
- Every three years, we conduct a survey to find out more about employees’ opinions on workplace communications, pay and benefits, and all aspects of the employer-employee relationship.
- We develop action plans at the corporate and department levels that involve employees in setting priorities and implementing solutions.
Flexible work hours
- We offer options such as flex hours, telecommuting, teleworking, compressed work weeks and job sharing hours to help employees achieve work/life balance.
Wellness programs
- We offer the most comprehensive wellness program in Canada’s public service. This includes a personal wellness profile, nutritional counselling and the provision of many wellness initiatives including annual flu shots. We also provide unique, department-specific wellness activities.
Work and train in your language of choice
- Employees have the choice to work in either English or French.
Diversity and equal employment opportunities
- We support cultural diversity in the workplace, and provide aboriginals, persons with disabilities and members of visible minority groups with equal access to employment, training and advancement opportunities.
Focus on environmental sustainability
- All new government buildings are designed and built to significantly reduce energy use and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Through the Green Building Policy, we are taking a significant step forward to increase energy conservation and environmental sustainability in the operations of government.
Safe and healthy workplace
- We provide a safe, clean, scent-reduced workplace environment that can be accessed by all employees including those with disabilities.
