Physicians – Operating Room Assist Program
This program enables physicians who have completed the phase-out program or those who have retired from active practice to continue to perform Operating Room (OR) assists for up to 5 years.
• Physicians who have completed the Phase-out program
• Physicians who have retired from active practice
Physicians can participate in the OR assist program for a maximum of five (5) years.
Physicians must comply with a yearly remuneration limit with respect to the total income earned on a fee-for-service basis for OR assist.
Excluded from the remuneration limit are any earnings the physicians make under any locum tenens.
Physicians must obtain the approval of the Regional Health Authority and must maintain privileges with the Regional Health Authority.
Physicians interested in participating in this program, should contact the Medical Affairs Office of the Regional Health Authority to seek approval. The Health Authority will then contact this department to request the establishment of such an arrangement and confirm eligibility.
