Government of New Brunswick

We aspire to:

  • give every opportunity to at-risk children and youth to succeed at school, academically and socially, and to become emotionally healthy adults. Schools will continue to be safe, nurturing and respectful places for all students and teachers.

  • give every opportunity to at-risk children and youth to be and to feel they are an important member of their family, school and community. Even more important: give every opportunity to at-risk children and youth to feel and know they are valued for themselves (intrinsically valued).

  • make it easier for at-risk children and youth as well as their families to obtain assessment, intervention and community-based supports. We intend to raise public awareness about these services and programs.

  • provide seamless services and programs to at-risk children and youth and their families. To protect them from being passed from one professional to another, clients will work with a team of professionals who know their cases well.

  • provide services and programs tailored to meet the specific needs of at-risk children and youth and their families. Services and programs will be provided as long and as much as needed.

  • improve job satisfaction for the professionals helping at-risk children and youth and their families.

  • provide increased opportunities for these professionals to forge alliances among themselves and stakeholders.

  • make services and programs provided by the provincial government to function in greater harmony with those provided in the community.

  • improve how we manage information about at-risk children and youth and their families and the services and programs that they are using and are available to them.

  • reduce the duplication of services and programs available to at-risk children and youth and their families.
