FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued today by Public Prosecutions Services regarding the Bulger and Boudreau court cases:

Following a review of the decisions in the matters of R. v. Bulger and R. v. Boudreau, Public Prosecution Services is seeking a judicial review of those decisions. Public Prosecutions Services is of the opinion that the judge at the preliminary hearing failed to consider all of the relevant evidence and thereby committed a jurisdictional error. No further comments will be provided as this matter continues before the courts.

Public Prosecution Services are independent in their role and therefore do not act on direction from government in the discharge of their responsibilities.
